A Home That Sets New Standards in Energy Efficiency

Curious about energy efficiency in action? Our cutting-edge Model Home is more than just eco-friendly; it’s a live data experience! Track real-time insights on energy consumption, temperature control, and sustainability metrics. Designed with advanced green technology, the Model Home provides detailed data so you can see the savings and comfort it delivers.

Proven Performance, Not Just Theory

Over 12 months of independent monitoring of Green Homes Demonstration Home. in Bathurst, NSW, confirms what we’ve always known. Green Homes perform in the real world, not just on paper.

The Results Speak for Themselves

Seasonal Energy Use Comparison Zero Bill Energy Home vs NatHERS vs Postcode Average (3)

Our cold-climate Demonstration Home has completed 12 months of independent monitoring. The results validate high-performance design in real-world conditions: measured heating and cooling energy are dramatically lower than typical homes in similar climates, indoor temperatures remain stable around ~68 °F all year, and the home operated without purchasing grid electricity—resulting in zero power bills. These outcomes were achieved through an efficient building envelope, passive solar design, and right-sized systems (solar + battery storage, heat-pump hydronics, and a high-efficiency heat-pump water heater).

CHART ZERO ENERGY BILLS

Energy (Seasonal) – Demonstration Home vs U.S. Projections vs Cold-Climate Average

The Demonstration Home (green) uses a fraction of the energy predicted by standard U.S. models and cold-climate averages—especially in the heating season—while maintaining year-round comfort.

Carbon (Annual) – Operational Emissions from Space Conditioning

Carbon (Annual) – Operational Emissions from Space Conditioning
With solar + storage and no grid purchases, the Demonstration Home’s operational CO₂e for space conditioning rounds to 0 tCO₂e/yr, compared with ~10–16 tCO₂e/yr for modeled/average homes (assumes 0.40 kg CO₂e/kWh U.S. grid factor).

Seasonal Energy Use Comparison Zero Bill Energy Home vs NatHERS vs Postcode Average (2)

Results reflect 12 months of measured performance for a single cold-climate Demonstration Home; comparisons use standard U.S. modeling assumptions and a representative grid emissions factor of 0.40 kg COâ‚‚e/kWh for context. Actual results vary with climate, occupancy, and usage. Minor backup fuel use is excluded.

Carbon-Free & Energy Neutral

Green Homes Builders are pioneering the delivery of Carbon Free, Energy-Neutral residences, ensuring sustainable living without compromising on comfort or environmental responsibility.

Carbon-Free

Carbon-free green homes often incorporate energy-efficient technologies and designs to minimise energy consumption and maximise the utilisation of renewable energy. The aim is to achieve a net-zero carbon footprint, meaning that any carbon emissions associated with the home’s operation are balanced by an equivalent amount of carbon removal or offsetting measures, such as carbon sequestration or purchasing carbon credits. Thus, carbon-free green homes contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and combating climate change while promoting sustainable living practices.

Energy neutrality for the Home means that the total amount of energy used by the Home on an annual basis is roughly equal to the amount of renewable energy created on the property. This balance is calculated over the course of one year and may vary based on usage, seasonal changes, and the efficiency of systems installed.

Embracing Carbon-Free, Energy-Neutral home upgrades represents a significant step towards a more sustainable future. By harnessing renewable energy sources, optimising energy efficiency, and prioritising environmentally conscious practices, Green Homes Builders are leading the charge towards a world where comfortable, eco-friendly living is the norm. With these innovative upgrades, homeowners can enjoy the benefits of modern living while making a positive impact on the planet, one home at a time.
